The online sessions will take place virtually using the Microsoft Teams platform.

Meetings in Teams include audio, video, and screen sharing. They're one of the key ways to collaborate in Teams. And you don't need to be a member of an organization (or even have a Teams account!) to join a Teams meeting.

No, you do not have to install any software to access the sessions, although downloading Microsoft teams may provide you with a higher quality experience. Information on accessing session platforms:

If you would like to ask a question, please do so in the chat, and the session moderator will either answer it or flag it for the presenter. You can access the chat by clicking the speech bubble found either in the top right, or the bottom/center of your screen.

In Microsoft Teams, the Call me feature gives users a way to join the audio portion of a meeting by phone. This is useful when you're unable to use a computer for audio.
Users will be able to hear and speak in the meeting through their mobile or land-line phones.

The in-person events will take place at the Dalhousie Student Building, on the Studley Campus of Dalhousie University. The sessions are on the second and third floors, with the McInnis Room (2nd floor), serving as the conference hub.

When you enter the Student Union Building through the front doors, the stairs and the elevator are to right, with the elevator to the left of the stairs.

Please bring your confirmation (either on your phone or printed). We also recommend you bring something to take notes with, and a water bottle.

The Dalhousie Student Building is located on the Studley Campus, of Dalhousie University. Please visit the Campus Map parking site to locate the nearest parking lot.
Accessible and individual reserved parking spaces require special permits and are not for general use. Ownership of a permit is not transferable. Only one permit per person allowed but more than one license plate may be added to an account for those who own more than one vehicle. Email parking@dal.ca for more information.
Short-Term Parking

Dalhousie offers 2 wireless network access options to campus visitors:

If you are visiting Dalhousie from another eduroam-affiliated institution, you can use your own home institution’s wireless credentials to access Dalhousie’s eduroam wireless network.
Set up eduroam at your home institution first to confirm it works.
Contact your home institution for any help or support for setting up or accessing eduroam (no matter what institution you are visiting).
There is no guarantee that eduroam will provide the same access to resources as your home or other visited institution's wireless networks.
Guest accounts
If you are not affiliated with an eduroam institution, and you require wireless access during your stay, you can request they create a guest account by emailing clt@dal.ca. We can then provide you with a username and password to connect to Dalhousie’s wireless network. -
Light snacks, refreshments, and a lunch will be provided during the April 30, in-person event. On the main floor of the Dalhousie Student Union Building, there are options for purchasing food.

Yes, the keynote will be recorded. We will be sending a link to the video to conference registrants shortly after the conference concludes.

To find Accessible and All-Gender washrooms across all four Dalhousie Campuses please visit the Dalhousie Washroom Map. All-Gender washrooms are identified by a yellow toilet symbol and the Accessible washrooms are identified by the blue accessible symbol. Here you will also locate accessible building entrances and the floor level where the washrooms are located.
A full list of All-Gender washrooms can also be viewed on the Dal Mobile app. To find them, open the app, tap the building icon (🏛️) at the bottom of your screen, then tap the tile labelled “Campus Maps”. The category of “All-Gender Washrooms” is marked with a red “ⓘ” symbol. If you tap on a particular washroom’s address, you will be taken to your phone’s Maps app and will get exact directions from your current location.
